Queen's College 7, Rider University 2
FLUSHING, N.Y.--The Rider University men's tennis team lost to Queen's College 7-2 on Friday afternoon in Flushing, New York.
For the Broncs, senior Mike Gershon (East Brunswick) won the sixth singles match 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 and teamed up with senior Drew Laverty (Mount Royal/Kingsway Regional) for a 9-8 (7) win at third doubles.
"Mike played well," said head coach Ed Torres. "He kept the ball in play, despite some windy conditions. Drew also played well in doubles. He (Drew) was the power and Mike was his setup man and they combined for a solid win at third doubles."
Both the Rider men's and women's tennis teams host Wagner College on Saturday at 11am.
