Rider's Huss MAAC Rookie of Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ— Rider University freshman Adrien Huss (Madrid, Spain) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for all games played the first weekend of the season.

“Adrien did a good job in his first game,” said Rider head coach Charlie Inverso.  “I knew what kind of player we were getting with him. He scored a big goal for us against Robert Morris to put us ahead.”

Huss scored on a rebound after a shot was saved to give Rider a 1-0 lead 7:30 into the second half in the eventual 2-1 victory in the 2013 season opener.

Huss was born and raised in France and French is his native language, but he came to Rider from Spain and also speaks Spanish and English.

In his first collegiate game Huss had three of Rider's eight shots and two of Rider's six shots on goal from his midfield position.
