Goalie Johnson, Golfer LeFante Rider Athletes of Month

LAWRENCEVILLE—Lyndsie Johnson of the field hockey team and Eric LeFante of the golf team were named the Rider University Athletes of the Month for all competition in September.

Johnson, a senior goalkeeper from Gibbsboro (Eastern High School), was undefeated in September (8-0) and was fourth in the nation in both goals against average (0.28) and save percentage (.917).

LeFante, a graduate student from Colts Neck, was the medalist at Saint Bonaventure’s Leo Keenan Invitational and placed second at the Rutgers Invitational.

At Saint Bonaventure LeFante shot a two-day total of 138 (70/68) on the par 70 course to finish first among 72 golfers. At Rutgers he shot a 143 (71/72) on the par 71 course to placed second of 75 golfers.

Johnson has compiled a Northeast Conference-high five shutouts this year. Last year she was a Regional All-American and a member of the NEC All-Tournament team as Rider finished runner-up.
