Hames set the Rider career record for assists that still stands, and he also ranks fifth in career scoring at Rider. Hames played in four conference championship games in his four years, twice advancing to the NCAA Championship Tournament. Hames set and still holds Rider records for free throws made in a game (18), assists in a season (192) and games played in a career (118). A two-time team MVP (1994, 1995), Hames was a third team All-Metropolitan selection as a sophomore, and fourth team All-Metropolitan pick both as a junior and as a senior. Hames was a first team All-NEC selection his sophomore and junior years, and a second team All-NEC pick as a senior. Hames ranked 25th in the nation in assist per game as a senior (6.4). A 3-time NEC all-tournament team pick, Hames was the Rider Rookie of Year and was on the NEC All-Newcomer team as freshman. Hames only missed one game in his career, with a knee injury. Hames was Rider's Chevrolet Player of Game in NCAA tournament game vs. Kentucky.
