Charles Lackey led Rider to a first ('86) and second ('89) East Coast Conference outdoor championship and first ('86) indoor championship. He was the ECC Most Outstanding Performer in 1989 and won 11 gold medals in the ECC and four more in New Jersey State Championships. He was the ECC outdoor champ in the high jump and 110 high hurdles all four years won the 200 meters and 60 yard high hurdles twice, as well as the long jump and the high jump. He placed second in the Penn Relays - "the best individual performance ever at the Penn Relays by a Bronc," according to former coach Mike Brady.
