Played men's soccer from 1946-49, serving as captain, leading scorer and most valuable player. Named the outstanding male athlete in his graduating class, he was selected for tryouts for the 1948 Olympic Team and reached the Eastern Finals. He played five years of professional ball for the Philadelphia American Soccer Club (1947-48 American Champions). In baseball, he was a captain, "MVP" and leading hitter who established a school mark with 22 stolen bases in 16 games (without getting thrown out). During one season, he stole home three times. He is a member of the Mercer County Soccer Hall of Fame and retired as the Deputy Police Chief in 1987 after 36 years of service in the Trenton Police Department.
