For the second consecutive game, Rider won a battle for first place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on the road, defeating Siena Saturday afternoon. Led by senior Jason Thompson (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) and sophomore Ryan Thompson (Mt. Laurel/Lenape), the Broncs (17-6, 10-2 MAAC) extended their winning streak to nine games, the fourth longest current winning streak in Division I. In front of a national television (ESPN2) audience, Jason Thompson scored 23 points, tied his own Rider record with 21 rebounds (as many as the entire Siena team), and dished out five assists. Holding a 28-15 lead, Rider went on a 14-2 run, five points by Ryan Thompson, to take a 42-17 lead with 5:08 left in the first half, and Rider led 59-34 at intermission. The 59 points in the first half breaks the Bronc record of 58. Rider went on an 8-2 run, four points by freshman Justin Robinson (London, England/Blair Academy), to take an 87-73 lead with 51 seconds remaining. Robinson finished with 12 points, including a tip-in with 1:00 left to give Rider an 86-73 lead, along with six rebounds and four assists.

Despite 10 points from sophomore Tammy Meyers (Willingboro), the Broncs lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game to Manhattan Sunday afternoon. Meyers also had four assists and two rebounds in 25 minutes of action. Trailing by 45, Rider went on a 13-0 run, four points each by freshman Cintella Spotwood (Trenton/Trenton Central) and sophomore Melissa Kowalczyk (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) to cut the Jasper lead to 80-48 with just under one minute remaining. Spotwood finished with five points and seven rebounds with Kowalczyk finishing with four points off the bench for the Broncs.

Wrestling
The Broncs won six bouts to defeat Drexel in a come-from-behind Colonial Athletic Association dual meet victory Tuesday. Junior Jason Lapham (West Chazy, N.Y./Beekmantown) won in overtime at 165 to cut the Dragon lead to 10-8. Junior Doug Umbehauer (Shamong, N.J./Lenape), ranked 12th in the nation at 184, and senior T.J. Morrison (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff), ranked 12th in the nation at 197, both won by major decisions to give Rider a 16-14 lead. Junior Ed Bordas (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central) won 1-0 at heavyweight to seal the victory. Sophomore Tom Lorenzo (West Orange) upset the fifth ranked wrestler in the CAA to get Rider on the board, and sophomore Fred Rodgers (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown) won 4-0 to give Rider a 5-4 lead.

At the Thompson Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware sophomore Karlise Cureton (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Twp.) set a Rider record in 60m high hurdles running 9.04, finishing third. For Cureton, it was her second team record in as many weeks. Senior Rebecca Clatch (Drums, Pa./Hazelton Area) tied the Rider record in pole vault with a 10'6” effort, placing seventh. For the Rider men's team, freshman Christian Gonzalez (Somerset/Franklin Twp.) won the 1000m (2:35.32) with sophomore Kevin Breen (Langhorne, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) winning the pole vault (14'9”).

At Lafayette junior Priscilla Modrov (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) won the 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly and 400 IM, senior Rebecca Sanbower (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.) won the 500 free and the 1650 free, sophomore Kellyanne Tomasula (Sussex/Vernon Twp.) won the 100 back and 200 back and junior diver Amanda Burke (Churchville, Pa./William Tennent) won the three-meter and one-meter.
