Against Penn freshman Sandra Penas (Barcelona, Spain) scored three goals and added two assists (eight points) and junior Megan Pisani (Plainsboro/W. Windsor Plainsboro-North) and sophomore Marlaine Schneider (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) each scored twice. In the home opener against Colgate Penas scored twice in her collegiate debut and junior Virginia Egusquiza (Getxo, Spain) had two assists.

Against St. Francis senior goalkeeper Alex Post (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) made nine saves for her first shutout of the season and the seventh of her career. At Delaware State sophomore Abi Cottam (Leominster, England/Ludlow) scored all three goals, Rider's first hat trick since 2003.

In the season opener against Lafayette, Rider tied the score at 1-1 midway through the first half when junior Sal Lubrano (Flemington, N.J.) hit a left-footed blast from 25 yards out. Freshman Josh Wright (Telford, England) picked up the assist in his first collegiate game.

Senior Katelyn Thompson (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) returned to her home state and was named to the all-tournament team at the Northern Arizona Fiesta Bowl Tournament. Against Temple in the home opener senior Amanda Piccolini (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) had 20 assists with senior Elyse Grassmuck adding 11 digs.

At Lehigh senior Christian Gonzalez (Somerset/Franklin Twp.) finished second of 91 and senior Michael Soroko (Kinnelon) was eighth. For the Rider women senior Chelsea Callan (Hazlet/Raritan) was 11th of 104 and sophomore Nicole Tassello (Suffern, NY/Suffern) was 28th.
