At Hofstra freshman Sandra
Penas (Barcelona, Spain) broke a 2-2 tie with 16 minutes left in
regulation on a penalty corner with junior Holly Cuff (Washington/Warren
Hills) picking up the assist. Penas, the Northeast Conference Player
and Rookie of the Week last week, leads Rider with six goals. Junior
Megan Pisani (Plainsboro/W. Windsor Plainsboro-North) scored her fifth
goal of the season on a rebound at 8:33 and junior Virginia Egusquiza
(Getxo, Spain) scored her first of the season to give Rider a 2-0 lead.

(Leominster, England/Ludlow) had a goal and an assist against FDU.
Cottam crossed the ball to freshman Jody Sokol (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem)
and Sokol scored her second collegiate goal. Rider senior goalkeeper
Alex Post (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) made three saves for her
eighth career shutout. Cottam scored three goals at Delaware State.
Cottam and freshman Jennifer Meier (Sayville, NY/St. Anthony's) scored
at Sacred Heart.

goalkeeper Matt Perrella (North Brunswick, N.J./N. Brunswick) made four
saves. At James Madison sophomore Sam Kotowski (Cranbury,
N.J./Princeton) scored with 4:24 left in the game to break the shutout.
The goal was the third of his career. Junior Sam Bryant (Burlington
Twp., NJ/Burlington Twp.) collected the assist.

Senior Chris Gonzalez
(Somerset, NJ/Franklin Twp.) finished first overall and senior Mike
Soroko (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) finished second at the 14-team Fordham
Fiasco, Gonzalez in 25:50.1 on the 5.0 mile Van Cortlandt Park course
and Soroko in 26:07. For the Rider women, senior Chelsea Callan (Hazlet,
NJ/Raritan) finished 10th overall in the 5K race in 19:00.9
and sophomore Jillian Shutt (Lawrenceville, PA/Williamson) was second
among Broncs in 20:11. Also for the Rider men, junior Michael Lindner
(Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) placed 12th (26:45.44) among the 136 runners and sophomore Sean Donohue (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Matawan) placed 16th (26:58.29)

freshman Megan Knott (West Caldwell/James Caldwell) had nine kills,
three digs and three blocks against Fordham and was named to the
all-tournament team after averaging 2.15 kills per set in the four
matches.

Wolgast (Bay City, Mich./Pendleton) had a 76 on Saturday to finish with a
54-hole total of 229 to place 43rd of 88 golfers. Wolgast
shot a 153 (76/77) on Friday. Junior Brian Accorsini (Hopkinton,
Mass/Hopkinton) shot an 80 on Saturday to finish 49th at 231.
Accorsini shot a 151 (75/76) on Friday. Junior Jordan Wycoff (Fort
Washington, Pa./Saint Stephen's Episcopal) had a 76 Saturday for a total
of 236 to finish 62nd, Wycoff had a 160 (83/77) on Friday.
Freshman James Buttermark (Staten Island, N.Y/Monsignor Farrell) shot an
83 Saturday to finish 67th at 237, tied with senior Chris
Wolak (Issaquah, Wash./Hopkinton), who had a team-best 74 on Saturday at
the par 71, 6,337 yard Rutgers University Golf Course and also finished
with a 237. Buttermark had a 73 after an opening round 81 for a
two-round total of 154 on Friday. Wolak shot a 163 (85/78) on Friday.
