Two Rider Greats Being Honored November 13
Rider's Lori Hussong & Sonny Pittaro to be Honored

LAWRENCEVILLE--Lori Hussong, head coach of the Rider University field hockey team and former Bronc head baseball coach Sonny Pittaro will be honored on Sunday by the Trenton Select Committee.
Established in 1972, The Trenton Select Committee is a local civic organization and it was formed to honor the career accomplishments of outstanding members of the Greater Trenton community, especially individuals who have been actively involved in athletics for many years.
Hussong and Pittaro will be honored during the 37th annual testimonial dinner on Sunday, November 13, 2011.
Hussong, in her 12th season at Rider, led the Broncs to an overall record of 19-2 in 2011 with Rider advancing to the NCAA Play-In game for the second season in a row.
Under Hussong, Rider has won five NEC Tournament Championships to go along with its six NEC Regular Season Titles and she has compiled a career record of 169-71, leading the Broncs to five NCAA Play-In games.
Rider has qualified for the four-team Northeast Conference playoffs all 12 seasons under Hussong.
Also being honored is former Rider head baseball coach Sonny Pittaro who will be the recipient of the Jim Carlin Memorial Distinguished Service Award for contributions to the Trenton Select Committee.
Pittaro retired from Rider in 2004 after 34 years, 766 victories, eight NCAA Tournaments and nine Conference Championships. Pittaro was inducted into both the Rider Athletics and American Baseball Coaches Association Halls of Fame in 2005.
The dinner will be held at the Stone Terrace on Kuser Road in Hamilton. A cocktail hour will commence at 3 p.m. with dinner to follow at 4 p.m.
