Rider's Ballay MAAC Rookie of Week

LAWRENCEVILLE-For the third time Rider University's Tara Ballay has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week in women's soccer.

"It's great for Tara to be recognized as rookie of the week again," said Rider head coach Drayson Hounsome. "She scored a crucial goal again this weekend at a time which really allowed us to swing momentum into our favor for much of the game."

Last week Ballay (Delran, NJ/Delran) scored a header 12 minutes into the second half to tie the score at 1-1 in a 1-1 tie with Loyola.

The goal was the second in two games for Ballay and her team-high fourth goal of the season. 

Rider owns a 7-3-3 overall record and is now 2-2-1 in the MAAC.

Ballay ranks fourth in the MAAC in game-winning goals and is sixth in the MAAC in points per game.

Rider plays its final two home games of the season October 19 (7pm Canisius) and 21 (3pm Niagara).
