Rider's Fallack on MAAC All-Rookie Team

8 Broncs MAAC All-Academic

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY-Rider University freshman Yannic Fallack (Meerbusch, Germany) was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Rookie team, while eight other Broncs were named to the MAAC All-Academic team.

"We are proud of Yannic for making the all rookie team," said Rider head coach Charlie Inverso, "and all of our players that made the all-academic team. They are great representatives of the Rider soccer program."

Fallack played in 15 games at the midfield position, starting 13.

Named to the MAAC All-Academic team were Rider senior Dave Benavidez (Peoria, Ill/Richwoods), senior Jonathan Burd (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick), senior William Daley (Birdsboro, PA/Twin Valley), junior Eric Elgin (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley), senior Ryan Fitzgerald (Yardville, N.J./Steinert), senior Brenden Noesges (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township), sophomore Ryan Walsh (Chesterfield, NJ/Northern Burlington Regional) and sophomore defender Jens Warncke (Lohne, Germany).

Benavidez is a Business Administration major with a 3.36 grade point average, Burd is a team captain and a Marketing major with a 3.57, Daley is a Marketing major with a 3.55, Elgin, a team captain majoring in Accounting with a 3.95 grade point average, Fitzgerald is an Accounting major with a 3.65, Noesges is a Finance major with a 3.54, Walsh is a Secondary Education/Mathematics major with a 3.59 and Warncke, a MAAC All-Rookie team member last year, owns a 3.30 as an International Business major.

Surprisingly, Rider's top rookie, freshman Matti Grahle (Oldenberg, Germany), did not make the All-Rookie team.

"I am at a loss for words about that," Inverso said. "Matti was often one of the most talented players on the field, no matter who we were playing."

Grahle played in 15 games, starting 14 at center midfield, and was third on the Rider team in scoring. Grahle was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Princeton Tournament.
