Rider Travels to Lafayette Tonight

EASTON, Pa.--Fresh off Thanksgiving break, the Rider University women's basketball team looks to gobble up a win tonight, when the Broncs travel to Lafayette for a non-conference game at 7pm.

The Broncs are led by junior MyNeshia McKenzie (Springfield, Pa./Springfield (Delco)) who is averaging 15 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

Rider is coming off a loss to Princeton last Tuesday.

Lafayette is coming off a win on Sunday against Wagner.  Prior to the game against the Seahawks, the Leopards had lost four in a row.

The Rider backcourt is expecting the return of sophomore Emily Fazzini (Wayne, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) who missed the first four games of the season with an ankle injury.  Fazzini had started all 30 games for the Broncs as a freshman.

Tonight's game marks the 30th meeting between Lafayette and Rider with the Leopards leading the series 20-9.  Rider has won three of the last four and four of the last six in the series.  Former rivals in the East Coast Conference, the teams last met in Easton on November 29, 2001 (4,017 days ago) when Lafayette won 75-72.

Rider and Lafayette met last season in Alumni Gymnasium with the Broncs winning 64-56, behind 20 points from then senior Sarah Homan.

The game can be heard live on 107.7 FM The Bronc, GoBroncs.com and 1077thebronc.com with Jeff Nolan and Dick Wiseman bringing you all of the action from the Kirby Sports Center.

After tonight's contest, Rider travels to Rhode Island to face Brown and either New Hampshire or Quinnipiac in the Brown Classic December 1-2.

Rider (1-3) returns home on December 7 when the Broncs battle Army at 7pm in Alumni Gym.
