Rider University Honored for Academics

LAWRENCEVILLE—Both the Rider University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were recently honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for academic excellence during the fall 2013 semester.

The teams that achieve a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher received Scholar All-American status. "The success of our student-athletes in the classroom is a real motivator for our team," said Rider head coach Steve Fletcher.

The Rider University men's swimming and diving team compiled a 3.04 grade point average and the Bronc women compiled  3.23 g.p.a. "The coaches are proud of our team's response to coaching in the classroom and in the pool," Fletcher said.

This season, the Rider men won the MAAC Championship for the third year in a row with the Bronc women placing runner-up for the 11th year in a row.
