BETHLEHEM, PA—The Rider University golf team competed at the two-day, 36 hole Lehigh Invitational, October 21-22.
The 12-team tournament took place at the Saucon Valley Country Club, on Grace Course in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a par-72, 7091 yard venue.
On Saturday, Rider shot 307 for a two-day total of 622 after opening with a 315 on Friday.
The Broncs finished in 11th place out of 12 teams.
Senior Parker Mann (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) had rounds of 76-75 (151) to finish in ninth place out of 66 golfers.
“Minus a double, Parker played a really good round,” said head coach Jason Barry.
Senior Aaron Simone (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) shot back to back rounds of 78 (156) to finish in a tie for 26th place.
Freshman Jake Sollon (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) had rounds of 81-76 (157) and tied for 31st place and sophomore Eder Moreno (Madrid, Spain/Santa Helena) scored rounds of 80-78 (158) to finish in a tie for 38th place.
Senior Sam DiGaetano (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) finished the tournament with an 89 after opening with an 84 and his two-day total of 173 put him in a tie for 64th place.
Lehigh University and Bucknell University each shot 609 to tie for the top spot in the team competition.
Hofstra University placed third (611), followed by St. John’s University (612) and Fordham University (614).
The Lehigh Invitational was the final competition of the fall 2016 season.
“We are looking forward to a productive off-season and to keep improving as we head into next spring,” Barry added.
Rider opens the spring 2017 season in March.
