PRINCETON, NJ – Senior Aaron Simone (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) led the Rider University men’s golf team with a two-round score of 149 on Day 1 of the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club. The Broncs currently sit in 13th out of 14 teams after carding a 309 in Round 1 and a 306 in Round 2 on the Par 71 course.

Simone shot a 75 in Round 1 and a 74 in Round 2, while Parker Mann’s (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee [Seton Hall]) 73 in the second round was the best single round of the day. Jake Sollon (Ventia. PA/Peters Township) also contributed a 76 in the first round and 78 in the afternoon session.

“Conditions were tough today and unfortunately we had to card a score in the 80’s each round. Parker and Aaron played very solid in the afternoon. Aaron could’ve been a lot lower on the front nine and Parker played his last seven one-under to finish strong. Tomorrow we’re looking for a low one to take momentum into the Peacock Invitational on Tuesday.” – Rider Head Coach Jason Barry

• Following a rocky start to the second round with bogey on four of the first five holes, Simone parred 12 of the final 13 holes with the lone exception being a birdie on the Par 3 11th.
• Simone and Mann each birdied three holes in the morning round. Mann also had three birdies in the afternoon session.

The Broncs close out the Princeton Invitational Sunday, teeing off after 8:30 a.m.
