What You Need to Know
- Rider opens up a four-game homestand this week, welcoming in Wagner on Wednesday in non-conference action before hosting Niagara this weekend for a three-game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series.

- Through its first three conference series of the season, the Broncs have posted a 5-4 mark. Most recently, Rider swept a three-game series at Saint Peter’s, outscoring the Peacocks, 50-5. The Broncs have won five straight games overall and four MAAC games in a row.

- Rider is 15-4 all-time versus Wagner. The last time the two squads met, Rider scored a 3-2 victory on the road against the Seahawks in March of 2014.

- For the first time in program history, the Broncs played a game in the state of New Jersey in the month of February, defeating Lafayette, 2-0, at home.

- During the team’s 10-day spring-break trip, Rider took two of three from Georgia and split a series at Campbell.

- Earlier this season, freshman second basemen Kyle Johnson was honored as College Sports Madness MAAC Player of the Week. It marked the first time in Johnson’s young career that he has earned recognition for his play on the field.

- The same week that Johnson earned his accolade; junior starting pitcher Nick Margevicius was named the MAAC Pitcher of the Week. It marked the first time this spring that Margevicius has earned the accolade and the second time in his career. As a freshman during the spring of 2015 he was once tabbed as the MAAC Rookie of the Week.

- This season, Margevicius is 3-1 with a 2.44 ERA and a team-high 40 strikeouts in 44.1 innings pitched. Out of the bullpen, Josh Sharik has made a team-high 16 appearances and Dylan Simcik is tied with Margevicius for the team lead in wins with three.

-The Broncs have allowed one run of fewer in three of their last four games. During that stretch, Rider has a 1.59 team ERA.

- Offensively, two Bronc starters are hitting over .300, led by catcher Lee Lipinski at .366. Lipinski has amassed 26 hits, scored 17 runs and registered 17 RBIs. From the leadoff spot, freshman Kyle Johnson is off to a torrid start, hitting .295 with a team-high 33 hits and nine stolen bases. Tyler Kaiser is the other Bronc hitting over .300, checking in at .315 through 27 games. Kaiser leads the team in RBIs with 22.

- Last week, Lipinski hit .600 (6-for-10) as Rider went 4-0. Four of his six hits on the week went for extra-bases including his second home run of the season. He posted a slugging percentage of 1.200 to go along with an impressive .737 on-base percentage. During the week he also stole one base, had six RBIs, scored six runs, had 12 total bases, was hit by three pitches and walked five times. He reached base safely in his eight plate appearances over the course of two games to start the week. His biggest game of the week came against Saint Peter’s when he went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, three RBIs, a double and a home run.

- On Monday, sophomore shortstop Richie Tecco was named the College Sports Madness MAAC Player of the week. In three starts last week, Tecco hit .500 (6-for-12) with eight RBIs, two runs scored and two doubles. He registered an impressive .538 on-base percentage in a trio of Rider wins, while stealing a base and racking up a .667 slugging percentage. He had two hits and two or more RBIs in all three of his starts last week for Rider. Defensively, he had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage thanks to making seven putouts and adding eight assists.
