Rider University moved forward with the renovation of the varsity softball field in the summer of 2007. This project is a part of a larger athletics facilities master plan which provides a special opportunity for philanthropic alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff to participate in a unique fundraising campaign.

Through a generous donation from Herb and Joan Young, enhancements were made to the field which is fully NCAA compliant and includes a press box, stadium seating, irrigation system, new fencing and backstop.

Our goal is to raise additional funds to make future enhancements to the softball program and Herb and Joan Young Field. While some of the resources have been secured, we seek a select group of supporters who collectively will make a major impact on the University’s softball program. There are various levels of giving available for all who choose to support the project, from naming a chair back stadium seat to naming the press box and stadium seating. Whether you are making a gift as a birthday present, in memory or in honor of someone special, or because you love softball, your tax-deductible donation will help create a lasting landmark on Rider’s campus.
