Field Hockey
At La Salle junior Virginia Egusquiza (Getxo, Spain) had two assists, while freshman Alicia Govannicci (Springfield, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara), sophomore Marlaine Schneider (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) junior Megan Pisani (Plainsboro/W. Windsor Plainsboro-North) and sophomore Jackie Adams (Medford Lakes/Shawnee) scored goals. Freshman goalie Rachel Yacovett (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) made two saves in her first collegiate game to pick up the win.

The Broncs began the season at the TD Bank classic at Vermont. Against Vermont senior Kara Perkoski (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) took a crossing pass from sophomore Meghan Mohr (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem) and scored on a header for her sixth career goal, giving Rider a 1-0 lead. Against New Hampshire freshman Jody Sokol (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) took a pass from sophomore Alexis Coughlin (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) and scored her first collegiate goal to give Rider a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute of play.

In the season opener against Lafayette, Rider tied the score at 1-1 midway through the first half when junior Sal Lubrano (Flemington, N.J.) hit a left-footed blast from 25 yards out. Freshman Josh Wright (Telford, England) picked up the assist in his first collegiate game.

Volleyball
At La Salle the Broncs lost 25-16, 25-21, 25-23. Senior Katelyn Thompson (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) had 12 digs and five kills with senior Elyse Grassmuck (San Antonio, Texas/La Vernia) adding 17 digs.

The golf season begins at Rutgers September 10. The golfers will be led this fall by senior Brent Wolgast (Bay City, Mich./Pendleton) and junior Chris Wolak (Issaquah, Wash./Hopkinton).
