Track & Field
At Penn Relays the 4x800m relay of senior Johanna Clarke (Laurelton, N.Y./Mary Louis Academy), junior Kristen Perrine (Brick/Brick Memorial), junior Heather Giovagnoli (Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford) and senior Chelsea Callan (Hazlet/Raritan) broke the Rider record with a 9:17.13. Senior Christian Gonzalez (Somerset/Franklin Twp.), sophomore Dave Brown (Ewing), sophomore Greg Wesh (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and senior Michael Soroko (Kinnelon) finished 11th in the distance medley relay (9:49.23) breaking a record that had stood since 1994. The 4x200 relay of senior Shaylah Counts (Newark/Malcolm Shabazz), sophomore Mia Riley (West Caldwell/James Caldwell), sophomore Ashley Hunter (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) and sophomore Erin McMullin (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) finished with a Rider record time of 1:41.58. The women's distance medley relay of Chelsea Callan, sophomore Erin McMullin (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy), Kristen Perrine and Heather Giovagnoli set a Rider record with a time of 11:54.43, placing fifth. At the TCNJ Invitational, Dave Brown placed second in the 400m hurdles (53.52), sophomore David Hightower (Easton, Pa./Easton) finished third in the 110m hurdles (14.51), sophomore Richard Verrall (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) placed third in the hammer throw (46.46m) and third in the javelin (59.66m). Dave Brown's time was an IC4A qualifier, as was Richard Verrall's javelin throw.

Against Canisius senior Mike Thomas (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) pitched seven innings, striking out eight. Thomas improved to 6-2 on the year with the victory, the 26th win in his collegiate career. Junior Brandon Cotten (Wiconisco, Pa./Williams Valley), senior Steve Galella (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial) and senior Karl Johnston (Hamilton, N.J./Peddie) each had three of Rider's 13 hits in the first game. In the third game Galella hit an RBI single with one out in the ninth inning for the win. At Princeton freshman starter Kyle Kennett (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose) pitched five and one-third innings, allowing just three runs while striking out three to improve to 3-0. Rider scored four runs in the sixth inning on four hits, including RBI singles by freshman Ken Kremer (Hershey, PA/Hershey) and Steve Galella to take a 4-3 lead. Galella had two hits. In the win over Fairfield sophomore Adam Wayman (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial) had three hits. Sophomore Joe Calogero (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill HS West) pitched six and two-thirds innings, allowing just two earned runs for the win, his first.

Against Iona junior pitcher Rachael Matreale (Williamstown) took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Rider scored in the first inning on an RBI single by sophomore Sam Pugh (Elkton, Md./Elkton). Senior Amanda Centeno (Ventura, Calif./Buena) had two of Rider's four hits. At Manhattan freshman Krysti Maronski (Woodbury Heights/GCIT) retired the first 10 batters she faced. Rider took a 3-2 lead in the fifth on an RBI single by sophomore Alyssa Paul (Toms River/Toms River HS East), scoring senior Jen Steward (Haddon Twp.). Steward and Paul each had two hits in game two with Steward doubling and scoring twice. Against Monmouth Rider took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by Sam Pugh who had three hits, including her fifth double. In the win over Stony Brook Rachael Matreale retired the first 11 batters and recorded seven strikeouts. The Broncs broke a scoreless tie on a two-run single by junior Samantha Mayer (Neptune). Mayer had three hits, four RBI and scored twice. Against Fairfield freshman Kehli Washington (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) broke up the no-hitter in the sixth inning. Alyssa Paul and junior Samantha Mayer (Neptune) each had singles in the seventh inning. Paul had four hits on the day including two doubles.

At MAAC Championships freshman James Buttermark (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) shot rounds of 79, 76 and 75 for a 54-hole total of 230 to finish tied for seventh among 45 golfers, earning All-MAAC honors. Senior Brian Accorsini (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) finished his Rider career in 36th place after scoring 250 (77-88-85). Junior Chris Wolak (Issaquah, Wash./Hopkinton) and teammate, senior Jordan Wycoff (Fort Washington, Pa./Saint Stephen's Episcopal) both shot 254 to tie for 37th place. Wolak had rounds of 86, 80, 85 with Wycoff scoring rounds of 86, 84 and 81. Wolak was 13th at MAACs in 2010 with Wycoff placing 16th last season at MAACs. Senior Brent Wolgast (Bay City, Mich./Pendleton), who was 11th last season at MAACs, finished 42nd with a total of 256 after rounds of 88, 86 and 82.

Tennis
At Niagara the doubles team of senior Rob Olsen (Marlton/Cherokee) and sophomore Milo Milosovici (Florence) won. Against Philly U freshman Kim Leder (Sicklerville/Timber Creek), sophomore Alexa Manforti (Toms River/Toms River HS South) and sophomore Jaclyn Giameo (Roselle Park) won. Leder and Giameo won in doubles.
