At Pine Grove High School:
Earned First Team All-Area as a junior, leading his team to a PIAA District 11 Runner-up finish...also played basketball in high school, helping his team reach the championship game of both the Schuylkill League and District 11 as a State quarterfinalist...pitched a complete game two-hit shutout against Tamaqua Area High.
