Field Hockey
At Lehigh senior Virginia Egusquiza (Getxo, Spain) scored three goals and was named the NEC Player of the Week. Sophomore Sandra Penas (Barcelona, Spain) added two goals and an assist. Senior Megan Pisani (Plainsboro/WWP-North) had a goal and an assist. At Villanova junior Marlaine Schneider (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy), junior Gabby Burgo (Collingswood) and junior Ellie LaBar (Oaklyn/Collingswood) scored and Virginia Egusquiza picked up her 50th career assist. Senior goalie Rebecca Lotito (Oceanport/Shore Regional) made two saves for her fifth shutout of the season and the 12th of her career. At Lock Haven Marlaine Schneider had a goal and an assist. At Bucknell Megan Pisani scored a career-high four goals.

At Loyola Broncs suffered first loss in a month. Against Holy Cross junior Claire Thompson (East Greenwich, R.I./E. Greenwich) took a pass from junior Abi Cottam (Leominster, England/Ludlow) and scored. Against Delaware State junior Demi Mello (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck) scored on a header off of a corner kick in overtime. Abi Cottam gave Rider a 3-2 lead with her eighth goal of the season and assisted on the game-winner.

At Fairfield junior Brittany Gajewski (Whitehouse Station/Hunterdon Central Regional) had 22 assists with freshman Ashlee Amatulli (Menifee, Calif./Temecula Valley) adding 17 assists and nine digs. At Iona freshman Jaclyn Webber (Anaheim, Calif./Canyon) had 16 digs and 16 kills. Against La Salle Jaclyn Webber had 18 digs and 17 kills. Freshman Kayla Wong (Tustin, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) had 14 kills, freshman Ashlee Amatulli (Menifee, Calif./Temecula Valley) had 34 assists. At Saint Peter's Jaclyn Webber had 19 kills. Ashlee Amatulli had 22 assists and five service aces. Against Manhattan Kayla Wong had 16 kills and junior Stephanie Nagy (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) had14 kills and four blocks.

At Lehigh's Paul short Run senior Heather Giovagnoli (Royersford, PA/Spring Ford) covered the 6,000m course in 22:30 to finish 17th overall and freshman Anthony Dentino (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) again finished first among the Broncs, 14th overall, covering the 8,000m course in 26:05. Senior Michael Lindner (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central), back from injuries that kept him out of the first two races this season, placed second among Broncs and 34th overall among the 382 runners in 26:23. At the Fiasco junior Megan Elgin (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) placed 20th of 117. Anthony Dentino finished 30th of 105.

Against Fairfield junior Dan Friga (Clifton, N.J./Passaic County Tech) scored twice, giving Rider leads of 1-0 and 2-1 and junior Brenden Noesges (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township) had two assists. Against Iona junior Dave Benavidez (Peoria, Ill/Richwoods) scored to tie the score at 1-1. At St. Francis-NY junior goalkeeper Jason Giordano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) made six saves. Against Albany the Broncs took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of play on a goal by junior Brenden Noesges (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township), his first of the season. Noesges and Jason Giordano were named to the all-tournament team.

Against Siena junior Mike Gershon (East Brunswick) and junior Milo Milosovici (Florence) won 8-6 at third doubles. For the Rider women against the Saints, freshman Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) won 6-3, 6-3 at third singles. Against Monmouth junior Marly Roche (Sussex/High Point Regional) won at first singles and teamed up with senior Tricia Ashmore (Sparta) for a win at first doubles. Michelle Caravaglio won at third singles with senior Danielle White (Reading, Pa./Reading) posting a win at fourth singles. Caravaglio and White teamed up for a win at second doubles. Against Lafayette freshman Steve Brand (Forty Fort, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) split his first two sets at number four singles.

At Cornell on Sunday senior Chris Wolak (Issaquah, Wash./Hopkinton) and sophomore James Buttermark (Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell) each shot an 81. Wolak finished the tournament in 60th place among the 75 golfers. Buttermark and freshman Luke Liddell (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) tied for 66th overall.
