Host Greyhounds in MAAC Match

Saturday is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement for the Jews.

The Rider volleyball team will attempt to make amends for losing its last four matches when it hosts Loyola University Maryland in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match, beginning at 3pm.

The Broncs began the MAAC portion of the schedule 2-2 before dropping the last three conference matches 3-1 at Manhattan, 3-2 at Iona and 3-1 at Fairfield.

Loyola (5-14, 2-4 MAAC) also began the MAAC schedule 2-2 before losing 3-0 at Fairfield and 3-1 at Iona.

Rider (4-15, 2-5 MAAC) is led by junior Stephanie Nagy, freshman Jaclyn Webber and freshman Ashlee Amatulli.

Nagy (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) ranks third in the MAAC in hitting percentage. Webber (Anaheim, Calif./Canyon) ranks seventh in the MAAC in kills and eighth in points. Amatulli (Menifee, Calif./Temecula Valley) ranks seventh in the MAAC in assists.

The Greyhounds are led by Elena Frac, who is second in the conference in service aces.

Loyola leads the all-time series with Rider 24-7. The last time Rider defeated the Greyhounds was during the 2001 season.

Time for the Broncs to atone for that.
