Broncs took Ivy League
Champ Princeton to double overtime before losing on a penalty corner. In
NEC Title Game freshman Eefje Kok (Berkel Enschot, Netherlands) took a
pass from junior Jackie Adams (Medford Lakes/Shawnee) and scored to
break a scoreless tie. Junior Marlaine Schneider (Feasterville,
Pa./Neshaminy) scored for the insurance goal. In the semifinals Kok gave
Rider a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the game. Senior Megan Pisani
(Plainsboro/West Windsor-Plainsboro North) tipped in a pass from senior
Virginia Egusquiza (Getxo, Spain).

Against Canisius freshman Jaclyn Webber (Anaheim, Calif./Canyon) had 16 kills and hit .325 with junior Brittany Gajewski (Whitehouse Station/Hunterdon) adding 15 digs. Also for the Broncs, freshman Ashlee Amatulli (Menifee, Calif./Temecula Valley) had 19 assists and nine digs with sophomore Meghan Bartsch (Cranford) adding 15 digs. Against Niagara Bartsch had 14 digs and 12 assists, Gajewski had 17 digs, with freshman Kayla Wong (Tustin, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) adding 10 digs.
Rider won the first two sets before losing at Loyola. Brittany Gajewski had 22 digs with Kayla Wong adding 10 kills. Junior Stephanie Nagy (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) had eight kills and six blocks. Meghan Bartsch had 25 assists with sophomore Bridget Sheerin (Oak Lawn, Ill./Marist) adding 12 assists.

At the Mid-Atlantic Regionals freshman Anthony Dentino (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) finished 59th
of 183 runners, covering the 10,000 meter course in 32:02. Junior Sean
Donohue (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Matawan) was next for the Broncs, finishing
62nd in 32:04. Freshman Nasser Zayer (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) was third for the Broncs, finishing 86th
in 32:46. For the Rider women, senior Heather Giovagnoli (Royersford,
PA/Spring Ford) was the first Bronc to finish, covering the 6,000 meter
course in 23:36 to place 63rd among the 199 women runners.

In MAAC tournament against
Canisius junior Dan Friga (Clifton, N.J./Passaic County Tech) took a
pass from junior Brandon Sebastian (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Twp.)
and scored from 15 yards out to give Rider a 2-1 lead with 6:18 left in
the game. The Broncs tied the score at 1-1 when freshman Matt Veltri
(Mays Landing/Oakcrest) came in off the bench, gathered a loose ball in
the box and scored his first collegiate goal 9:27 into the second half.
In quarterfinals against eventual champ Fairfield junior goalkeeper Matt
Perrella (North Brunswick, N.J./N. Brunswick) made seven saves.
Freshman defender Jens Warncke (Lohne, Germany) was named to the MAAC
All-Rookie Team.

Against La Sale and Delaware junior Brian Molloy (Toms River/Toms River HS East) won the 200 free (1:44.63) and 500 free (4:46.08), junior Johnny Funk (Las Vegas, Nev./Southeast Career & Tech. Academy) won the 100 back (52.49) and 200 IM (1:56.24). Sophomore Trevor Hiller (Galloway Twp./Absegami) won the one-meter dive (272.15). The men's 400 free relay of Molloy freshman Brett Pedersen, (Sewell/St. Augustine Prep), freshman Drew Peterson (Boulder City, Nev./Boulder City) and junior Julien Hensen (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) won with a time of 3:09.91. At Lehigh Johnny Funk won the 100 back, the 200 back and the 100 butterfly, junior Kelly O'Connor (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) won the 200 butterfly and the 100 butterfly. Sophomore Melanie Leonhard (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) won the 1,000 free and the 500 free and junior Addie Oswald (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley) won the 200 free and the 100 free, senior Brendan Cavallaro (Middleboro, Mass/Middleboro) won both the 1-meter dive and the 3-meter dive and freshman Drew Peterson (Boulder City, Nev./Boulder City) won the 200 individual medley.

Against Lafayette in the
season opener senior Sarah Homan (Upper Darby, Pa./Delco Christian)
scored a career-high 20 points. Rider trailed 33-31 with 15 minutes left
before going on a 17-0 run, seven points by senior Ali Heller (Boca
Raton, Fla/St. Andrews) to put the Broncs ahead 51-36. Heller finished
with nine points. Against Bucknell sophomore MyNeshia McKenzie
(Springfield, Pa./Springfield-Delco) had 16 points and 12 rebounds and
junior Caitlin Bopp (Baltimore, Md./Inst. of Notre Dame) finished with
14 points and 10 rebounds. Trailing 38-34 Rider went on a 27-1 run, nine
points by Ali Heller, giving Rider a 61-39 lead. Heller finished with
14 points.

At Binghamton Open, junior Jim Resnick (Media, Pa./Penncrest) won all five matches to win his weight class. Freshman Donald McNeil (Plainville, Mass./Wyoming Seminary) placed fifth, winning four of six matches. Senior Jimmy Kirchner (Somerville, N.J./Somerville) placed sixth at 141, winning four of seven bouts. Sophomore Ramon Santiago (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville) placed sixth winning four of seven matches. At Army sophomore Evan Craig (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) won an 18-10 major decision at heavyweight to give Rider a 7-3 lead. Freshman Vinny Fava (Elmwood Park, N.J./Elmwood Park) upset 19th ranked Jordan Thome 8-3 at 133. Junior Zac Cibula (Luxemburg, Wis./Luxemburg Casco), ranked 12th in the nation at 149, won a 4-3 decision at 157. Sophomore Chuck Zeisloft (Woodbury Heights, N.J./Gateway) posted a late takedown to win 5-2 at 125. Donald McNeil won his first collegiate match 10-3 at 197.
