Rider Signs Moorman

LAWRENCEVILLE--Nicole Moorman has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Rider University, head volleyball coach Christopher Feliciano announced.

Moorman, a 6-1 middle hitter from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, is currently a senior at Moon Area High School and was a three-year letterwinner and team captain and was named the Tigers most valuable player this past season.

"Nikki is a player that will help us in the middle right away," said Feliciano who will be beginning his second season at the helm of the Broncs in the fall.  "She very athletic and provides more depth for us at the middle hitter position."

Moorman earned Second Team All WPIAL honors.

"Nikki moves very well in offensive transition and closes the block consistently from pin to pin," Feliciano added.  "We are excited to have a player of her caliber on our team as part of the 2016 recruiting class."

Moorman also earned the Scholar Athlete Award as an honor roll student and was named Athlete of the Week by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Beaver County Times.  Moorman is also involved in SADD, Key Club, and was on the Prom and Homecoming Courts.

Rider returns 13 letterwinners for the 2012 season.
