Baseball
Against Canisius freshman Greg Fazio (Far Hills/Ridge) batted .364 with four hits and three RBI in three games, including a two-run triple that cut the lead to 14-6 in the 14-8 loss. He had three hits in the doubleheader. Against NJIT freshman lefty David Hafer (Pine Grove, PA) made his third collegiate start and allowed just five hits in six innings, striking out a career-high eight. Against George Mason senior Brandon Cotten (Wiconisco, Pa./Williams Valley) had two of Rider's six hits, had a stolen base and made a back-to-the-infield diving catch in centerfield. Against Niagara sophomore Nick Crescenzo (Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) batted .571 with 8 hits and scored 4 runs in three games. In the scheduled seven inning contest, junior Adam Wayman (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial) led off the 13th inning with a double, his third hit of the game, and scored the game winner. Junior Tyler Smith (Westmont/Haddon Twp.), a Preseason All-American who earned All-East honors last year as a closer, pitched seven innings of relief for the victory. In the third game freshman Mike Parsons (Liverpool, NY) hit a two-out RBI single in the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie. Against Seton Hall Rider took a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning when junior Ian Lindsay (Oaklyn/Haddon Twp.) doubled and scored on the first collegiate home run by freshman Justin Thomas (Richboro, PA/Council Rock South). Thomas and Lindsay each had two hits.

Softball
Against Lehigh freshman Allysen Breeden (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) had six hits in the doubleheader. She hit her second home run of the season, a three-run shot, to give Rider a 5-3 lead. Against Manhattan senior Rachael Matreale (Williamstown) pitched both games and junior Alyssa Paul (Toms River/Toms River HS East) went five for seven in the doubleheader and had two stolen bases. Sophomore Lisa Blanton (Hilliard, Fla./Hilliard) had two hits and scored two runs in the 4-0 win. At Columbia Rachael Matreale threw a three hit shutout, recording four strikeouts for her eighth win of the season. Sophomore Ally Coryell (Ewing) hit an RBI single in the eighth inning for a 1-0 lead and sophomore Krysti Maronski (Woodbury Heights/Gloucester County Inst. of Technology) collected her first collegiate hit, a two-run single. In the win over Army Allysen Breeden had two hits. Ally Coryell tied the score with an RBI single. Senior Samantha Mayer (Neptune) hit an RBI single for the final score.

Tennis
Against Lafayette freshman Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) won for the fifth time this season, scoring a 3-6, 7-5, 10-2 decision over the number one singles player from Lafayette who trains in Naples, Florida at the Saddlebrook Tennis Academy. Against La Salle sophomore Rollie Malfitano (Wenonah/Gloucester Catholic) won six games at number one singles before losing 6-4, 6-2 with freshman Stephen Brand (Forty Fort, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) winning five games at second singles before losing in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. At Monmouth junior Drew Laverty (Mount Royal/Kingsway Regional) won four games at third singles before losing in straight sets. At Philly U. freshman Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) took her second singles match to three sets before losing 10-4 in the tie-breaker.

Track & Field
At Lafayette junior Mia Riley (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) won the 100m (12.12) and the 200m (25.55) and was named the MAAC Performer of Week. Senior Heather Giovagnoli (Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford) won the 3,000m in a Rider record time of 9:59.83.   Freshman George Solujich (East Windsor, NJ/Notre Dame) won the shot put (49'9") and won the discus (156'5"), and qualified for the IC4A in the discus. Junior James Burroughs (West Orange) won the 110 hurdles (14.46) and the 400m intermediate hurdles (55.0), qualifying for the IC4A in the 110 hurdles.   Freshman Jonathan Galya (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.) won the high jump (6'6.75").   Junior David Hightower (Easton, Pa./Easton) also qualified for the IC4A in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.59, finishing second.

Golf
At Penn sophomore James Buttermark (Staten Island, N.Y/Monsignor Farrell) shot rounds of 84 and 79 for a 36-hole total of 163, finishing 37th out of 85 golfers. Freshman Cole Clark (Califon/Voorhees) finished the tournament with a score of 172 (84/88), tying for 62nd with teammates, senior Chris Wolak (Issaquah, Wash./Hopkinton) 86-86 (172) and freshman Luke Liddell (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (85-87-172). At La Salle Invite Cole Clark finished 20th of 64 with a 163 (78/85). Clark finished fourth in par three scoring (4.83) and tied for the seventh most birdies with four. James Buttermark shot a 165 (78-87) and finished in a tie for 25th. Luke Liddell finished in 36th place scoring a 169 (83-86).  Liddell shot 18 pars and finished in a tie for 11th most in the tournament. At the GW Invitational Cole Clark shot a final round 79 and finished at 224 after rounds of 71 and 74 on Friday.  Clark placed 19th out of 69 golfers. James Buttermark finished in 33rd place (228) after a round of 75 on the final 18 holes.  Buttermark shot 76 and 77 in his opening two rounds on Friday and was fifth in par three scoring with a 3.08 average.
