Baseball
At Monmouth the Broncs scored five runs in the ninth inning on five hits and an error, but Monmouth came right back and scored six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the ninth. Freshman David Hafer (Pine Grove, PA) pitched eight scoreless innings, striking out six while allowing six hits and three walks. Graduate student Ryan Murphy (Yardville, N.J./Steinert) had two of Rider's eight hits. Senior Brandon Cotten (Wiconisco, Pa./Williams Valley) hit a two-run single to break a scoreless tie. At Fairfield sophomore Jerry Mulderig (Langhorne, PA/Council Rock South) had five hits, five RBI and a save on the mound.
Against Canisius freshman Greg Fazio (Far Hills/Ridge) batted .364 with four hits and three RBI in three games, including a two-run triple that cut the lead to 14-6 in the 14-8 loss. He had three hits in the doubleheader. Against NJIT freshman lefty David Hafer (Pine Grove, PA) allowed just five hits in six innings, striking out a career-high eight. Against George Mason senior Brandon Cotten (Wiconisco, Pa./Williams Valley) had two of Rider's six hits, had a stolen base and made a back-to-the-infield diving catch in centerfield. Against Niagara sophomore Nick Crescenzo (Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) batted .571 with 8 hits and scored 4 runs in three games. Junior Adam Wayman (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial) led off the 13th inning with a double, his third hit of the game, and scored the game winner.

Against Delaware senior Rachael Matreale (Williamstown) pitched a 1-hitter while sophomore Alyssa Paul (Toms River/Toms River HS East) and freshman Allysen Breeden (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) homered for a 2-0 lead. Against Saint Peter's Matreale pitched a no-hitter, striking out 13, and was named the MAAC Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this year. Against Lehigh Allysen Breeden had six hits in the doubleheader. She hit her second home run of the season, a three-run shot, to give Rider a 5-3 lead. Against Manhattan Rachael Matreale pitched both games and Alyssa Paul went five for seven in the doubleheader and had two stolen bases. Sophomore Lisa Blanton (Hilliard, Fla./Hilliard) had two hits and scored two runs in the 4-0 win. At Columbia Rachael Matreale threw a 3-hit shutout

Against Wagner junior Marly Roche (Sussex/High Point Regional) won in straight sets at first singles (6-3, 6-4) and senior Tricia Ashmore (Sparta) won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles. Freshman Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) won for the sixth time this season, with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at third singles. Roche and Caravaglio teamed up for an 8-4 win at first doubles. Against Loyola junior Matt DiMartino (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) won his first set 6-3 at sixth singles before losing in a three-set tiebreaker 10-5. Against Lafayette Michelle Caravaglio won for the fifth time this season, scoring a 3-6, 7-5, 10-2 decision at first singles. Against La Salle sophomore Rollie Malfitano (Wenonah/Gloucester Catholic) won six games at number one singles before losing 6-4, 6-2 with freshman Stephen Brand (Forty Fort, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) winning five games at second singles.

At the Colonial Relays as junior Nicole Tassello (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) won the 10,000m with a Rider record time of 37:11.06 to earn MAAC Performer of the Week. Senior Heather Giovagnoli (Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford) placed 17th in the 1500m (4:32.90), breaking the Rider record by almost nine seconds. Junior Megan Elgin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) set a new Rider record in the 5,000m with a time of 17:22.26. Junior Sean Donohue (Cliffwood Beach/Matawan) placed fourth in the 10,000m (30:32.28) and freshman Anthony Dentino (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) placed fifth in the 10,000m (30:33.65), both qualifying for the IC4As. Freshman Sydney Grimes (West Orange, NJ) placed fourth in the discus (112'3") and junior Mia Riley (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) placed fifth in the 100m dash (12.32). Junior Greg Smith (Milford, NJ/Delaware Valley) placed fifth in the triple jump (42'6.25") and David Hightower placed ninth in 110m hurdles (14.64).At Lafayette Mia Riley won the 100m and the 200m and was named the MAAC Performer of Week. Heather Giovagnoli won the 3,000m in a Rider record time of 9:59.83. Freshman George Solujich (East Windsor, NJ/Notre Dame) won the shot put and won the discus (156'5"), and qualified for the IC4A in the discus. Junior James Burroughs (West Orange) won the 110 hurdles (14.46) and the 400m intermediate hurdles, qualifying for the IC4A in the 110 hurdles. Freshman Jonathan Galya (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.) won the high jump. David Hightower also qualified for the IC4A in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.59.

At Penn sophomore James Buttermark (Staten Island, N.Y/Monsignor Farrell) shot 84/79 for a total of 163, finishing 37th out of 85. Freshman Cole Clark (Califon/Voorhees) finished with a 172 (84/88), 62nd. Senior Chris Wolak (Issaquah, Wash./Hopkinton) 86-86 (172) and freshman Luke Liddell (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (85-87-172). At La Salle Invite Cole Clark finished 20th of 64 with a 163 (78/85).
