Broncs Host St. Francis-NY Today
4pm on Ben Cohen Field
LAWRENCEVILLE-The Rider University men's soccer team will seek its first win of the season with a 4pm home contest with Saint Francis College of New York today. It will also be the first Code Cranberry of the season.
The Broncs are coming off a 3-0 loss at Saint Joseph's on Saturday.
Saint Francis is coming off a 3-0 win over Howard, also on Saturday. Earlier this season Saint Francis defeated Saint Joseph's 5-1.
"Saint Francis is a good team," said Rider head coach Charlie Inverso. "They throttled St. Joe's a couple of weeks ago. We're going to have our hands full. We just have to keep going at it."
This is the 13th meeting between Rider and St. Francis-NY, former Northeast Conference rivals, with each team winning six times. The Terriers won 1-0 last year with a goal in the 84th minute of play.
The Terriers come to town with an international roster, with a player from Albania, three from England, three from France, one from India, two from Jamaica, three from Sweden and one from Venezuela.
The Broncs are 0-1 at home this year after finishing last season 0-5-1 at home.
Rider plays two games at Princeton this coming weekend, against the host Tigers Friday night and against Penn Sunday afternoon.
