First Annual Brown University Invitational Final Day
Molloy fishes 4th in 100
Addie Oswald finishes 4th in 200-backstroke
Rider men finish 6 of 6

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The Rider University men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed on the final day of the first annual Brown University Invitational Sunday.
The three day event took place this November 30-December 2 at the Bear's Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatic Center
The Rider men finished in sixth place out of six teams with 236.5 points and the Rider women ended in seventh place out of eight teams with 125 points.
For the Rider men, senior Brian Molloy (Toms River/Toms River East) swam for a fourth place finish in the 100-yard freestyle finals (45.42).
For the Rider women, senior Addie Oswald (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley) finished in fourth place in the 200-yard backstroke finals (2:02.81). Oswald dropped nearly two seconds from her preliminary time, which was 2:04.01.
Also for the Rider women, senior Kelly O'Connor (Beverly, Mass/Beverly) was fifth in the 200-yard backstroke finals, finishing behind Oswald with a time of 2:03.08. O'Connor also finished in 17th place in the finals of the women's 200-yard butterfly. O'Connor swam 2:04.43.
The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Molloy, sophomore Brett Pedersen (Sewell/St. Augustine Prep), senior Johnny Funk (Las Vegas, Nev./Southeast Career & Tech. Academy) and senior Julien Hensen (Delafield, Wisc./Kettle Moraine) came in seventh with a time of 3:04.13. Funk also placed ninth in the 200-yard backstroke finals, clocking in at 1:50.81, an improvement from his prelim time of 1:52.30 and Hensen also finished 17th in the 200-yard breaststroke finals with a time of 2:06.08
On the women's side, junior Melanie Leonhard (Piscataway) placed 11th in the 1650-yard freestyle finals (17:24.21).
Also for the Bronc men, sophomore Shane Tubb (Swedesboro/St. Augustine Prep) placed 15th in the 200-yard butterfly finals, swimming a time of 1:53.57.
Both the Princeton men and women were champions of the meet. The Tiger men finished in first with 1,008 points and the Tiger women amassed 1,024 points in their win.
For the men, Dartmouth came in second place behind Princeton with 772-points. The United States Military Academy (735.5) placed third, the host Bears came in fourth (466.5) and Columbia finished in fifth place with 450.5 points.
On the women's side, Yale (802) was runner-up to Princeton with the Bears coming in third (618). Dartmouth capped off the weekend in fourth place with 538-points with the United States Military Academy (352) coming in fifth. The New Hampshire women ended in sixth place with 256 points and Columbia placed eighth behind Rider with 64 points.
The Broncs completed the fall semester with this meet and Rider will open the 2013 portion of the schedule on January 12, hosting Loyola University Maryland in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference meet at Coppola Pool in the Maurer Center.
