Women's Soccer Honored for Academics
NSCAA Team Academic Award
The Rider women's soccer team has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, earning NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.
"It has been a strong year for our program and student-athletes, so it is good to see them honored once again by the NSCAA for their academic performance in the class room," said Rider head coach Drayson Hounsome. "They have demonstrated that they can perform week in and week out in the class room as well as on the field."
A total of 498 women's college soccer teams posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher to earn the academic honors.
Rider had a team grade point average of 3.39 for the period covered by this award.
The Broncs have had an Academic All-American on their roster the last two years, senior Abi Cottam. Ten Broncs earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors in 2011 and 14 in 2012.
