Rider's Coleman Honored by the MAAC

EDISON--Freshman La'tazah Coleman (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) of the Rider University women's indoor track and field team was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Female Performer of the Week it was announced Tuesday.

Coleman was honored for all competition December 3-9.

In her collegiate debut at Lehigh's Fast Times, Coleman placed first in both the 60-meter (7.76) and the 200 meter dash (25.57), both times setting Rauch Field House records. 

"This is a great and well deserved honor for La'tazah," said head coach Bob Hamer.  "She had a great first meet and we are excited to watch her grow and develope during this season."

Coleman, an Entrepreneurial Studies major, was also third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.93) and high jump (1.60m).

Rider competes at the Monmouth Invite January 5.
