Johnson is Rider's third MAAC honoree in a row with Chambers recognized as the MAAC Player of the Week on December 3 and Bopp named MAAC Player of the Week on December 10.
Central Connecticut (4-4) is coming off a home loss to La Salle University Wednesday night.
Former East Coast Conference rivals, Rider and CCSU last met on February 27, 1992, 7,330 days ago when the Blue Devils defeated Rider 75-66. Rider leads the all-time series 5-2.
Rider has already matched its road win total from a year ago and the Broncs enter play having won four of their last five games.
After the game Friday night, Rider returns home to face St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, December 29 at 2pm in Alumni Gymnasium.
Rider opens conference play on Friday, January 4, at 7pm against defending MAAC champion Marist College.
