Wrestling Returns to Rider
Broncs Host Army Wednesday
LAWRENCEVILLE-The Rider wrestling team is home Wednesday for the first time since December 1, hosting the Black Knights of Army.
The 7pm match in the newly refurbished Alumni Gymnasium can be seen on the BroncSportsNetwork, with live video streaming on BroncVison.
Tickets can be purchased online by clicking the "TicketLeap" link in this story or in person on Wednesday at the ticket window in the lobby of Alumni Gymnasium. The ticket booth will open on 6 p.m. for Wednesday's dual meet.
Rider (7-5) is coming off a pair of Colonial Athletic Association victories over George Mason and nationally ranked Binghamton.
The Broncs have been led by junior Ramon Santiago (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville), sophomore Jimmy Morris (Northport, NY/St. Anthony's) and senior Zac Cibula (Luxemburg, Wis./Luxemburg Casco).
Santiago (22-6, 10-2 duals) is ranked 16th in the nation at 165. Morris is now 22-8 overall, 10-2 in duals at 133 and Cibula is 18-6 overall, 6-1 in duals at 157.
Army (4-4) recently defeated Bucknell 28-9 after losing 24-12 to #17 Boise State.
The Black Knights are led by 157 Paul Hancock (21-7), 184 Collin Wittmeyer (16-11), 197 Bryce Barnes (16-13), and 141 Connor Hanafee (15-11). Senior 133 Jordan Thome (14-12) had five fall this year and has 82 career wins.
The Broncs won 16-15 at West Point last year. The last time Army came to Lawrenceville the Black Knights won 19-16. Rider and Army have now met 25 times since the series began in 1976-77, with each team winning 12 times with one tie.
