Coleman Honored by MAAC, Again
LAWRENCEVILLE-Rider University freshman La'tazah Coleman was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week for all competition January 29-February 4.
It marks the third time Coleman has been so honored.
In a dual meet with the College of New Jersey, held at the Lawrenceville Prep School, Coleman (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink) won three events, broke three Rider records and qualified for the ECAC Championships in two events.
"La'tazah had another outstanding meet," said Rider head coach Bob Hamer. "She was a big contributor to the team's win over TCNJ. She had a big improvement in her high jump and she is looking great as we approach the championship season."
Coleman won the 55m dash in a Rider record and an ECAC qualifying time of 7.16. She won the high jump with a Rider record and ECAC qualifying height of 1.70m. (5'7"), and she also ran on the 4 x 200 relay that placed first in a Rider record time of 1:43.71.
Coleman currently ranks first in the MAAC in the 55m/60m and the high jump.
The Broncs compete in the Rider/Lafayette Winter Games February 8, one last meet before the MAAC championships February 15.
