28 Broncs MAAC All-Academic

NEW YORK, NY-28 members of the 2012-13 Rider University indoor track & field teams were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. 

For the men's team, sophomore Nick Bencivenga (Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens), senior Dave Brown (Ewing), sophomore Ariel Caceres (Union City), junior Joseph Carlin (Staten Island, N.Y./McKee), sophomore Anthony DeFranco (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Gov. Livingston), sophomore Anthony Dentino (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.), senior Sean Donohue (Cliffwood Beach/Matawan), senior Nick Dorkin (Briarcliff Manor, NY), junior Billy Hackmeister (Coatesville, PA), sophomore Derek Lake (Middletown, NY/Pine Bush), senior Kurt Morrison (Deptford, NJ), junior Anton Pokras (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus), junior Matt Sampson (Manasquan, NJ), senior Greg Wesh (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and sophomore Nasser Zayer (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) earned All-Academic team honors.

From the women's team, sophomore Josephine Boyle (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington), senior Megan Elgin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East), senior Erin Fitzgibbons (Sayreville), sophomore Taylor Harmon (Robbinsville), senior Paige McAtee (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa), senior Erin McMullin (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy), junior Gabrielle Randell (Warwick, NY), senior Mia Riley (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell), junior Corina Santiago (Ewing/Notre Dame), senior  Jillian Shutt (Lawrenceville, Pa./Williamson), senior Nicole Tassello (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern)  and junior Katie Williams (Franklin, NJ/Wallkill Valley) were honored.

Boyle is Liberal Arts major with a 4.0 grade point average, Elgin majors in Political Science and has a 3.88, Fitzgibbons owns a 3.63 as an Elementary Education/Psychology major, Harmon majors in Advertising and has a 3.2, Hunter has a 3.79 while majoring in Elementary Education/Psychology, McAtee has a 3.5 as a Journalism major. 

McMullin is a Communication major with a 3.47, Randell is a Psychology major with a 3.2, Riley owns a 3.8 as a Business Administration major, Santiago is an Accounting major with a 3.5, Shutt majors in Communication and ha s a 3.74 grade point average, Tassello has a 3.8 majoring in Elementary Education/Psychology and Williams is an Elementary Education/Psychology major with a 3.36.

Bencivenga is an Accounting major with a 3.2, Brown is an Accounting major with a 3.5, Caceres is an Accounting major with a 3.2 and Carlin owns a 3.2 majoring in chemistry.

DeFranco is an Accounting major with a 3.5, Dentino majors in Secondary Education and has a 3.4, Donohue has a 3.44 as a Journalism major, Dorkin majors in History and has a 3.5 grade point average.  Hackmeister is a Secondary Education/Math major with a 3.5, Lake majors in finance with a 3.7 grade point average, Morrison has a 3.3 in Computer Info Science, Pokras is a Finance major with a 3.3, Sampson majors in Accounting and has a 3.7, Wesh has a 3.3 majoring in Entrepreneurial Studies/Marking and Zayer majors in Secondary Education/History with a 3.8 grade point average.
