Rider Signs Eight
LAWRENCEVILLE-The Rider University men's soccer program has added eight recruits for the 2013 season.
Zach Bond of Holmdel, Mamadee Kamara of the Bronx, NY, Travis Nitti of Ft. Lee, Matt Fryc of Jackson, David Pastuna of Robbinsville, Jimmy Quilter of South Brunswick, Max Pozzessere of Tresckow, PA and Dean Stephan of Millstone, have signed on to further their education and athletic careers at Rider.
"I feel very good about this group of guys and we are far from being done with recruiting," said Rider head coach Charlie Inverso. "These players were really excited about the opportunity of coming in to try to contribute right away and they know that the future of the program here at Rider is bright."
Bond is a senior at Holmdel High School, where he set the school scoring record to earn First Team All-State honors and was a Regional All-American. The MVP of the State All-Star game, Bond was voted one of the top five players in New Jersey, and plays for the NJSA 04 in the US Academy League.
Kamara comes to Rider from Monroe Community College, where he compiled 20 assists and led his team to the 2011 National Junior College Championship Game.
Nitti is a senior at Bergan Catholic High School, where he earned Third Team All-State honors as a midfielder, and was selected to play in the State High School game. Nitti also plays for FC Westchester in the US Academy League, having played for Match Fit Academy last year.
Fryc is a senior at Jackson Memorial High School, where he earned First Team All-State honors and was a Regional All-American. The Ocean County Player of the Year, Fryc is a midfielder.
Pastuna is a senior at Robbinsville High School, where he earned All-State, First Team All-CVC and Second Team All-Area honors as a goalkeeper.
Quilter is a goalie at South Brunswick High School and played for the second ranked club team in New Jersey, Jersey United, and was selected for the State All-Star game.
Stephan is a senior at Notre Dame High School and a NJ ODP player. He captained his team to the State semifinals as an All-CVC midfielder.
Pozzessere, a senior at Hazleton Area High School, comes to Rider from the PA Classics in US Academy League.
