Broncs at Nationals Day One

DESMOINES, IOWA—Rider senior  Zac Cibula (Luxemburg, Wis./Luxemburg Casco) advanced to the second round of the championship bracket while the other three Broncs are in the consolations at the NCAA Wrestling Championships Thursday.

In the first round Cibula pinned the ninth seeded 157, Frank Hickman of Bloomsburg in 2:14.

In the second round tonight Cibula will face the eighth seed, Dylan Alton of Penn State. Cibula lost 5-2 to Alton during the dual meet season

Rider 165 pound junior Ramon Santiago (Sayreville), a CAA Champion this year, lost 15-3 in the first round to the sixth seed, Patrick Graham if Oklahoma. In the consolations tonight Santiago will face Josh Houldsworth of Columbia.

Sophomore 197 pound Donald McNeil (Plainville, Mass./Wyoming Seminary) lost 7-4 in the first round to the second seed, Quentin Wright (28-0) of Penn State. McNeil lost 12-4 to Wright earlier this year.

Sophomore 133 pound Jimmy Morris (Northport, NY/St. Anthony's) lost 13-2 in the first round to the 10th seeded 133, Scotti Sentes of Central Michigan.

In Consolations, Morris will face Mackenzie McGuire of Kent State tonight.
