Rider's Sensi MAAC Rookie of the Week

EDISON--Freshman Dana Sensi (Allentown) of the Rider University softball team was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for all games played March 18-24, it was announced Monday afternoon.

Sensi was sensational, batting .556 in six games with 10 hits, two doubles and a home run.

"Dana is playing bigger than a first year player," said head coach Tricia Carroll, in her 19th season with the Broncs.  "She has played well since the opening game of the season and she continues to be a dangerous hitter."

Sensi scored twice and knocked in six runs and compiled a slugging percentage of .833.

This past week, in a doubleheader against Green Bay at the Rebel Spring Games, Sensi had a six for six day.

A Business Economics and Finance double major, Sensi has started all 26 games this season and leads the team in batting average (.378), hits (31), doubles (7), home runs (2) and RBIs (14).

Sensi also leads the team with eight multiple hit games and three multiple RBI games.

Weather permitting, Rider is scheduled to host Hartford on Tuesday at 2:30pm in a non-conference doubleheader at Herb and Joan Young Field.
