Broncs Sign National Recruit
Rider Signs Toms River’s Clagon
LAWRENCEVILLE—B.J. Clagon of Toms River, a senior at Toms River High School South, has signed a national letter of intent to further his education and wrestling career at Rider University, Rider associate head coach John Hangey announced.
“B.J. is probably the most successful recruit our program has ever had,” said Hangey, who was an All-American at Rider in 1993 and has coached six All-Americans at Rider. “His success on a state and national level is second to none.”
Clagon compiled a 155-6 scholastic record on his way to four NHSCA National Championships. A two-time NJSIAA State Champion, Clagon is currently ranked third in the nation at 145 pounds by InterMat and is the tenth highest ranked recruit in all weight class.
“We look for B.J. to make an immediate impact in our program and on the national level,” Hangey said.
Clagon joins J.R. Wert of Christiansburg, Virginia on Rider’s incoming class for 2013-14. Wert was ranked tenth in the nation at 120 pounds as a senior at Christiansburg High School this past winter.
