New Assistant Coach
Men’s College Soccer
Rider Hires Kotynski
“Victor is a tremendous young coach and the players have responded to him from day one,” Inverso said.
Kotynski played and coached at Seton Hall University. “Vic played for and coached under Manfred Schellscheidt who is the most influential coach in America and we are really happy to have him here,” Inverso said.
“"I am very happy to have joined the staff here at Rider University,” said Kotynski, who graduated from Seton Hall in 2006 after playing in four NCAA tournaments. “I am looking forward to working with and learning from one of the most experienced and successful coaches in the Tri-State area, Coach Inverso. We have a very young and exciting group of players with great potential.”
Kotynski served as the Seton Hall captain as a senior and was a four-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team. Two of his Pirate teams were ranked in the top 25 in the nation.
Upon graduation Kotynski was a player and later a coach for the Newark Ironbound Express of the USL/PDL. He played with the New York Red Bulls reserve team after spending time with the Charleston Battery of the “A” League.
Kotynski has developed his coaching skills working alongside several great coaches including Manfred Schellscheidt, Kazbek Tambi, and Gerson Echeverry at Seton Hall University and World Class FC.
In 66 career games for Seton Hall, Kotynski totaled two goals and three assists. His teams went a combined 43-25-13.
“We really lucked out getting Victor on our staff,” Inverso said.
Kotynski joins third-year assistant coach Larry Povia on Inverso’s staff.
