Pirates Sailing Toward Lawrenceville

Broncs Host Seton Hall Wednesday Night

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—The Rider University men’s soccer team will host Seton Hall Wednesday night under the lights at 7pm on the Ben Cohen Field.

Rider (5-2) has been led by freshman Christian Flath (Bargeshagen, Germany) and freshman David Pastuna (Robbinsville, NJ).

Flath is currently second in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in points and goals and is tied for first in the MAAC in assists.

Pastuna, the MAAC Rookie of the Week September 16-22, has two shutouts, second most in the MAAC, and has led Rider to a MAAC best 0.86 goals against average.

Seton Hall (2-4-2) is 0-3-1 on the road this year and is currently on a four-game losing streak.

Rider defeated Seton Hall in the 2011 season opener but lost to the Pirates in overtime last year.

Rider and Seton Hall have met 23 times since the series began in 1939, with the Broncs holding a 13-8-2 advantage.  The last time these two teams met prior to 2011 was the 1993 season opener, a 6-1 Seton Hall victory.

Weather permitting, Wednesday’s game, as well as all home soccer games, will be streamed on BroncVision, the pay per view video stream of Rider Athletics.

GameWatcher (LiveStats) will also be available for free on the website for all home games and most away contests.
