Rider Hosts Lehigh Saturday at 1pm
LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams return to Coppola Pool (Maurer Center) on Saturday, October 26, when the Broncs host Lehigh University at 1 p.m.
Martir swam for first place in the 50 free (21.60), the 100 free (47.22) and the 100 fly (51.52) and Cramer was the winner in the 200 free (1:43.42), 500 free (4:42.26) and 1000 free (10:03.40).
For the Rider women against Seton Hall, senior Melanie Leonhard (Piscataway) won the 1000 free (10:42.48) and the 500 free (5:15.62) and freshman diver Heather Lonkert (Moon Twp. Pa/Moon Area) won the one-meter dive (250.50).
Lonkert was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Female Diver of the Week last week for the second time in the opening three weeks of the season.
In her collegiate debut against UMBC on October 12, Lonkert won both the one and three-meter dives to earn MAAC honors.
Lehigh and Rider last met during the 2011-12 season when the Mountain Hawks won both the men’s and woman’s dual meet. The meet scheduled for last season was cancelled due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Lehigh visited Coppola Pool in 2010 when the Rider women won the dual 154-139.
After the meet on Saturday, Rider returns to the pool on November 9 when the Broncs travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a tri-meet against La Salle and the University of Delaware.
