Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match

LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University volleyball team lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Canisius College Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Griffins won 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

"We didn't play well today," said head coach Christopher Feliciano.  "We had too many inconsistencies in our defensive approach."

For Rider (12-9, 3-7 MAAC), freshman Alaina Piszczek (Sinking Spring, Pa./Berks Catholic) had 17 digs with junior Ashlee Amatulli (Menifee, Calif./Temecula Valley) adding 17 assists.

Sophomore Brandie Hill (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) had 10 assists and six digs for the Broncs with sophomore Nicole Moorman (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area HS) adding six blocks.

Rider and Canisius met earlier this season in Lawrenceville with the Golden Griffins winning 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-20).  The Golden Griffins improved to 23-3 all-time against the Broncs and have won 16 straight over Rider.

The Broncs stay in Western, New York to face Niagara University on Sunday.

"I am looking for us to play better on Sunday," Feliciano added.  "It is a must win match for us."
