Broncs Move Up in Rankings

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—After an impressive showing against the three-time defending national champions, the Rider University wrestling team has moved up from 25 to 22 in the USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches Poll.

Rider sophomore Robert Deutsch (Cherry Hill, NJ/Eastern Regional) moved up to 10th (from 11) at 125 pounds, senior Ramon Santiago (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville) moved up to 13th (from 14th) at 165 pounds and junior Clint Morrison (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) moved up to 19th (previously not ranked) at 184.

Morrison won a major decision in Rider’s recent 34-8 loss to #1 Penn State, improving to 3-1 on the season.

Deutsch is also 3-1 on the season after losing 5-0 to #3 Nico Megaludis of Penn State. Santiago is now 2-2 after losing to #1 David Taylor of Penn State.

The Broncs host Lock Haven in their very first Eastern Wrestling League dual meet Friday, November 22, at 7pm in Alumni Gymnasium.
