Rider’s Meier Honored by National Soccer Coaches

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—For the second consecutive year Rider University’s Jennifer Meier was honored for her high grade point average as well as her play on the field by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Meier, a senior from Sayville, NY (St. Anthony’s), was named Honorable Mention NSCAA Women’s Scholar All-East Region.

“Jenn has excelled both in the classroom and on the pitch during her four years at Rider and we are very proud to see her recognized once again by the NSCAA for her accomplishments,” said Rider head coach Drayson Hounsome.

A Second Team All-MAAC selection as a senior, Meier owns a 3.819 cumulative grade point average as an Elementary Education/Math major.

As a junior Meier was a First Team All-MAAC selection and was named to the 2012 NSCAA Women’s Scholar All-East First Team and NSCAA Women’s Scholar All-America Third Team.

In 2013 Meier ranked second in the MAAC in points per game (1.29), third in goals per game (0.53) and 10th in assists per game (0.24).

Meier ranks third in career goals (27) and fourth in career points (67) at Rider and was a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team member.

As a senior Meier earned CollegeSportsMadness.com MAAC Player of the Week honors in September and earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors in October.

As a freshman Meier was a member of the 2010 MAAC All-Rookie Team.

Rider had a four-year record of 37-26-10 with Meier on the team.
