LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University women's basketball Head Coach Lynn Milligan has announced the written commitment of three student-athletes for the 2017-18 academic year. Wing Daija Moses (Toronto, Canada/Henry Street High School), guard Amari Johnson (Red Lion, PA/Dallastown High School) and Jaiden Morris (Richmond, VA/Monacan High School) have signed their NLIs and will join the Broncs for the 2018 season.

“We are very pleased with these three young ladies that have decided to become a part of our Lady Bronc family,” Rider Head Coach Lynn Milligan said. “They are outstanding people and terrific players. Our staff has worked extremely hard to recruit the players we feel will be a successful part of our program.”

Daija Moses
Moses is a 5-10 guard/forward from Toronto, Canada. The right-handed shooter was a four-year standout at Henry Street High School where she was tabbed as the team MVP, the All-Star Team MVP and named a team captain. For her work in the classroom she was named to the honor roll three times in high school.

Milligan on Moses
“She is a very versatile player. Her athleticism will allow her to play multiple positions and provide us depth.  She is a perimeter scoring threat and will be a great defender as well.”

Amari Johnson
Johnson is a 5-10 guard from Red Lion, Pennsylvania. Johnson starred scholastically at Dallastown High School and was a two-year member of the University of Rhode Island women's basketball team before transferring to Rider. Johnson was a 2014-15 Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class AAAA Second Team All-State selection as a senior for Dallastown Area and she was also a GameTimePA.com YAIAA First-Team All-Star during her senior season. As a senior, she poured in almost 17 points per game and averaged double figures in rebounds with more than three blocked shots per game. Johnson led Dallastown to the York-Adams League regluar season title, while topping both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds for Dallastown. The versatile player saw action at all five positions at various times in high school. Last season at URI she appeared in 26 games and made three starts.

Milligan on Johnson
“She is a player we recruited a few years ago and we are thrilled she has become a Lady Bronc. She is a multi-talented perimeter player that can hurt you in many ways. We are excited to have her working with our guards all year as she sits out.”

Jaiden Morris
Morris is a 5-8 right-handed guard from Richmond, Virginia. She comes to Rider after four solid years of action at Monacan. Her team captured three state titles and she was tabbed as First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region, First Team All-State and Second Team All-Metro two years in a row.

Milligan on Morris
“She is a very versatile player and scoring threat. She comes from a strong program and her skillset will help her excel on both ends of the floor for us.”
