Track & Field

At Lafayette senior Kelly Kajunski (Glenmore, Pa./Downington East) won the high jump with a height of 5’7”, qualifying for the ECAC Championships. Junior Alicia Price (Voorhees/Eastern) won the shot put (40’10.5”), junior Lauren Lester (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen) won the 800m (2:20.20) with senior Tabatha Haskins (Medford/Shawnee) winning the triple jump (36’11”). Freshman Kristen Perrine (Brick/Brick Township) set a Rider record in the 1500m (4:46.63) with sophomore Chelsea Callen (Hazlet/Raritan) setting a Rider record in the Steeplechase (11:27.67).

Baseball

Against Monmouth junior Ryan Miller (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) pitched five innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out seven and giving up just one walk, improving to 2-0 on the year. Senior James Hayes (Sunrise, Fla./Piper) and sophomore Mason Heyne (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) each had two hits and two RBI for Rider. Sophomore John Ralston (Annandale, Va./Paul VI), senior Maurice Williams (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) and sophomore A.J. Albee (Ashley, Pa./Hanover Area) also contributed two hits each for the Broncs. At Seton Hall senior Sean Olson (Vineland, N.J./St. Augustine Prep) and Mason Heyne combined for five hits and four RBI to lead Rider to victory. Against Iona Heyne had seven RBI in three games with a double and two home runs, including walk-off.

Softball

Freshman Rachael Matreale (Williamstown) threw a two-hitter against Canisius the two-time defending MAAC champions and recorded five strikeouts to pick up her third win of the season. Senior Katy Mills (Seattle, Wash./Mount Rainier) hit a three-run home run to leftfield giving the Broncs a 4-1 lead.  Eckett finished with two hits on the day. Mills hit her team leading fifth home run of the season in the sixth inning, a two-run shot to left field, giving Rider a 6-1 lead.  Mills finished with five RBI in the game and had three hits in the doubleheader.

Golf

At the Lonnie Barton Invitational in Savannah, Georgia Tuesday senior Eric LeFante (Colts Neck) shot a 75 after an opening round of 79 and finished 10th out of 53 golfers.  LeFante finished with a score of 154, 11 shots behind the leader.

At Loyola senior Casey Jedlinski (Manalapan) posted a straight set win at number one singles 6-2, 6-2, running his record to 10-3 this season.
