Broncs open 2017 at Lonnie Barton Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The Rider University men’s golf team opened the spring season at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, hosted by LIU Brooklyn at the Hills Course at LPGA International. The Broncs finished 10th of 12 teams, shooting 321 on Monday and 327 on Tuesday. 

Freshman Jake Sollon (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) was the Broncs’ top finisher. After shooting a five-over 77 on Monday, Sollon slipped back into a tie for 30th for the tournament with an 11-over 83 on Tuesday.

• The Broncs’ best individual round came from senior Aaron Simone (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna), who shot a four-over 76 on Monday. 
• Senior Parker Mann (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee [Seton Hall]) carded a five-over 77 on Tuesday, the Broncs’ best round of the day. 

The Broncs return to action March 27-28, when they take part in the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova in Malvern, PA.
