At NCAAs senior Rob Morrison
(Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) and sophomore Jim Resnick (Media,
Pa./Penncrest) each won twice and sophomore Zac Cibula (Luxemburg,
Wis./Luxemburg Casco) won once. Resnick beat the 10th seed in the opening round.

At Monmouth senior Michael
Soroko (Kinnelon) won the 1500m (3:59.66) and David Hightower (Easton,
Pa./Easton) won the 110m hurdles (14.2), which is an IC4A qualifier and
finished second in the 400m hurdles (54.85). Sophomore Mia Riley (West
Caldwell/James Caldwell) won the 10om (12.36). Freshman Steven Brown
(Penns Grove) placed second in the triple jump (13.71) and third in the
long jump (6.49m), sophomore Jorge Merino (Old Bridge) finished third in
the shot put (15.09m) and third in the discus (43.93m), sophomore James
Burroughs (West Orange) placed second in the 110m hurdles (15.00), and
freshman Christopher McGovern (Old Bridge/St. John Vianney) placed third
in the javelin (54.65).

Baseball
At Seton Hall senior A.J.
Albee (Ashley, Pa./Hanover Area) had two hits, scored a run, had an RBI
and a stolen base. Freshman outfielder Nick Crescenzo (Hammonton,
NJ/Hammonton) had two hits, extending his hitting streak to 11 games.
Against Niagara Crescenzo batted .643 with nine hits, six RBI and scored
six runs, including five hits in the first game of the series. Senior
Mike Thomas (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) struck out 11 batters in eight
innings of work, allowing just one run on four hits and two walks.
Thomas improved to 2-1 on the season and 22-10 for his career. Senior
shortstop John Ralston (Annandale, Va./Paul VI) batted .583 with seven
hits (double) and seven RBI with a walk and a sacrifice fly, scoring
three runs. In the field he had 15 assists and four put outs without an
error at shortstop, turning five double plays. Against Maine Crescenzo
was 5 for 10 with three RBI and three runs scored and earned MAAC Rookie
of the Week. A.J. Albee was seven for 14 in the four-game series.
Senior Nate Eppley (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern), sophomore Chris Taylor
(Sterling, VA/Dominion) and junior Patrick Devlin (Richboro, Pa./Council
Rock North) picked up the pitching victories.

Junior Lucy Higgins
(Westminster, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) had the only Bronc hit against
St. Joseph’s. In the win at Penn senior Amanda Centeno (Ventura,
Calif./Buena) had two hits including a double with senior Brittany
Eckett (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) hitting two home runs on the
day. Junior Rachael Matreale (Williamstown) threw a complete game with
seven strikeouts. Against Army freshman Krysti Maronski (Woodbury
Heights/GCIT) threw a complete game three-hitter, recording six
strikeouts. The Broncs tied the game on an RBI double by senior Brittany
Eckett (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) who hit a sacrifice fly in the third
inning to give Rider a 2-1 lead. Freshman Lisa Blanton (Hilliard,
Fla./Hilliard) had two hits including a double and sophomore Alyssa Paul
(Toms River/Toms River HS East) added a triple. In the win over FDU
Rachael Matreale threw a complete game, recording eight strikeouts and
allowed only one unearned run. Alyssa Paul and freshman Laura Gallagher
(Flanders/Mendham) each had two of Rider's seven hits with freshman
Kehli Washington (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) picking up two RBI.

Buttermark (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) had a three round
total of 237 (79/81/77) to finish 25th out of 51 golfers. Senior Brian
Accorsini (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) shot a 240 (81/82/77) to finish
30th. Senior Jordan Wycoff (Fort Washington, Pa./Saint Stephen's
Episcopal) placed 38th with a 241 (90/81/79). Senior Brent Wolgast (Bay
City, Mich./Pendleton) was 39th with a total of 251 (81-83-87) with
junior Chris Wolak (Issaquah, Wash./Hopkinton) finishing tied for 46th
with a 262 (92/85/85).

Tennis
Against Fordham the men's tennis team received wins from freshmen Rollie Malfitano (Wenonah/Gloucester Catholic) and Nick Lubold (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley). Malfitano won 1-6, 6-1, 6-0 at number one singles and Lubold won 6-2, 6-4 at number six singles. Against Lafayette the women’s junior Danielle White (Reading, Pa./Reading) won at third singles.
