Coleman, Wolfe Rider Athletes of Month for January
LAWRENCEVILLE--A pair of freshmen, La'tazah Coleman of the indoor track & field team and Ryan Wolfe of the wrestling team, were named the Rider University Athletes of the Month for all competition in January.
Coleman (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink) broke Rider records in the 60 meters (7.68) and the 200 meters (24.65) at the Army 6 Team meet, held at West Point, and since then has broken the Rider high jump record (5'7") as well as the 55m dash record (7.16).
Wolfe (New Castle, DE/Caravel Academy) went 4-1 in January, including a victory over the top ranked 184 pound wrestler in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Wolfe was expecting to red-shirt this season but due to an injury to Rider's starting 184, was thrown into the line-up at mid-season. Wolfe is now the top ranked 184 in the CAA with a 19-9 overall record, 3-1 in the CAA.
Coleman is currently ranked first in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in the 60 meters, the 200 meters and the high jump, and has the 10th fastest 200m in the entire ECAC this winter.
